MEET THE CAST

 

Blayne Saldana (Mark) is a teacher for Goose Creek ISD. When he saw that Stage Door Inc was putting on RENT, he decided to live by the RENT motto "No day but today" and auditioned. This is his first show and is very excited for the opportunity to work with such talented people.

Mike Kilgore (Roger) has been acting in musicals since 2016.  He has been in several shows including Sweeny Todd, Mama Mia, Rock of Ages and more. Mike is excited about RENT but little known fact, he has never seen or even listened to the show prior to taking on the roll.  He has enjoyed getting to make new friends in this show.  Mike is married to his wife of 20 years, Daniela Kilgore.  They live in Houston and have two fur babies that are their world.

 

Deonte “Tae” Jones (Angel) is a Houston native. He received his AA in Fine Arts from San Jacinto College. He has been in several theater productions and  musicals including Little Shop of Horrors as Audrey II (The plant), Smokey Joe’s Café and most recently the     production of Rent.

Mario Sweeney (Tom Collins) This is Mario’s first stage door performance. He is 18 years old and loves performing. Some of his favorite roles are (Angel/ensemble) in RENT, (Judas) in Godspell, (Agwe) in Once On This Island.  Mario has been in a little over 30 shows and would like to dedicate this show to his friends and family 

 

Hayley Beirmeister (MiMi)- This is her first production with Stage Door Inc., and she couldn’t be more excited! Hayley has been acting on stage since she was nine years old. No stranger to musicals, her favorite credits include Eponine (Les Mis), Penny (Hairspray), Maureen (RENT), and Annie in Annie! the Musical, when she was just eleven years old.. She works for Main Street Theater in Rice Village TEACHING THE CHILDREN!!!

 

Elamie Horne (Maureen) is excited to make her Stage Door Inc. debut in RENT. Her previous credits include Nickie in Sweet Charity, Chloe (understudy) in Be More Chill, and Frances in Five Women Wearing the Same Dress.  She’d like to thank her mother and grandmother for their unending support, her sister Cadie for introducing her to RENT many moons ago, and her boyfriend Matt for keeping her sane through life in general. When in doubt, use your guitar.

Makayla Grothe (Joanne) is excited to be playing a dream role of hers on a stage she is very familiar with. Some of her favorite roles she’s taken on at SDI include Rizzo in Grease, Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast and Annie/Cheryl in Evil Dead: The Musical. She serves as executive assistant of Stage Door Inc. as well as production coordinator with the theatre’s youth acting company. She would like to thank this  Incredible  cast  and her family for always being supportive of her passion for theatre. 

 

Keith Herrmann (Benny, Choreographer) is thrilled for the opportunity to perform in one of his favorite musicals.    Recent shows include: Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Addams Family, Chicago,  Avenue Q, Wedding Singer, Little Shop of Horrors, Disaster The Musical, Guys and Dolls, Sweet Charity, Sordid Lives, Rocky Horror Show and several others.  Thank you to Rey and Bailey for supporting me and allowing me to do what I love to do.

Kendra Harwell (Ensemble, Music Director) is very excited to continue acting and musical directing with Stage Door, Inc. as an ensemble cast member in RENT. She would like to thank her husband, Greg, for all his support and encouragement!

Dayna Steyn (Ensemble)  is an 18 year old student at Lee High School with hopes to attend Hardin Simmons University. She has appeared as The Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland and Maleficent in Descendants. She has been acting since junior high but this is her first show at Stage Door inc. She is very excited to be a part of this show and would like to thank her director Marc for giving her a chance at this theater. 

 

Sara Jayne (Ensemble) is thrilled to be in her first show in Texas! Hailing from California, she has been doing community theater since 2017, joining productions such as Mamma Mia, 9 to 5, and Young Frankenstein. Professionally, she fights human trafficking as an Education Coordinator (uaht.org). When not working or performing, she hangs out with her animals, plants, and friends.  

 

Marc Anthony Glover (Director) Is Executive     Director of Stage Door Inc.   Marc currently serves as a member of the board of directors for Texas Non-profit Theatres Inc.  Currently his youth company, SDI Protege Players,  has over 230 students involved. One quote that he always shares with his students and strives to live his life by is "Today for you, Tomorrow for me!"

 

Jennifer Hardin—Ensemble  is very excited to be in RENT. She's been doing shows here at Stage Door Inc. since 2011 and hopes to pursue acting as a career.

Emily Thornton (Ensemble) is 19 years old and a second-year college student at the University of Houston Downtown to get her degree in fine arts with a minor in education. This will be her first show with Stage Door Inc. Her onstage roles have included Spiker in “James and the Giant Peach”, Mrs. Darling in “Peter Pan”, and The Mute in “The Fantasticks”. She has run sound, lights, stage-managed, and directed. She would like to thank Marc for this amazing opportunity.

O'Hanna (Ensemble) is a sophomore in high school and college, studying culinary arts. She spends her time out of school volunteering at Stage Door. This is her 5th show on stage, but 6th show overall.   She would like to thank Marc and Makayla for this     experience.
